The Client refers to the commissioner, who provides materials to be edited and payment for the requested service.The Editor refers to the person being commissioned to provide the requested service.Blind Editing is a process where an editor marks a piece of writing for corrections and alterations without scrutiny from its author. Upon completion of marking, the document is returned to the author, who may then employ the editor’s corrections.Line Editing refers to a process where a piece is edited on a line-by-line basis. The writing is marked for flow, grammar, and clarity on these terms. The scope of editing ranges from single character mistakes, to the adjustment of sentences or sentence groups, including the removal or rearranging of words, sentences, and paragraphs.Line Editing does not include comprehensive checks for consistency with lore, research, or character/story arcs, nor does it include evaluation of themes. Small consistency mistakes, such is inconsistent spelling of names, or incompatible descriptive elements, may still be marked.---The Blind Document is the separate document that the editor works in during the blind editing process.The Client Copy Document is the marked version of the document that is delivered to the client.

Cancellation and Refund Policy
Service cancelled at any point before Work Begins will incur a $10 USD administration fee, with no exceptions.For cancellation after Work Begins, the client will be charged a percentage of the total cost of the commission equal to the percentage of currently completed editing, rounded up to the nearest 500 words. The minimum fee will be 25% of the total cost of the commission, which is covered by the down-payment. If the client fails to pay this charge, the incomplete edited material will be withheld, and the client will be barred from future commission work until the charge is paid.Once the editing work has been completed in full, the client may not request a cancellation or refund. Once the edited materials have been delivered, the client may not request a cancellation or refund.The editor may cancel the work at any time, for any reason, in exchange for a full refund to the client.

Shared online document (Google docs)
The client shares the document with the editor, at the provided email address.
The editor makes a separate copy of the document in which to work. This copy is the blind document.
The editor goes through the blind document, leaving comments as to what changes should be made.
If the material to be edited is longer than 10,000 words, and the client has requested it, the editor will provide a summary of editing at the halfway point.
This summary will include an explanation of the most common trouble areas and a description of the extent of necessary editing. Specific examples of feedback may be provided at the discretion of the editor.
The client is allowed to ask simple clarifying questions regarding this summary, but may not engage the editor in consultation over the piece. What constitutes consultation is left to the discretion of the editor.
The editor confirms that the client is ready to receive the edited document, contingent on payment in full for services rendered.
The editor shares the blind document with the client at the same email address from which they were sent the original document. This shared copy will be available for seven days.
The client creates a personal copy of the blind document within the allotted seven days. This document is the client copy document, the receipt of which constitutes final delivery.
If the client fails to create a personal copy of the blind document in the allotted seven days, they may pay an administrative fee of $10 for the document to be re-uploaded for an additional seven days.
The editor revokes access to the blind document at the end of the allotted seven days.
